Performance Shaper - Michelle Rushton
As a speaker, facilitator and consultant, Michelle marries her up close observations of high performing leaders and teams with contemporary behavioural science research to make sustained high-performance practical and achievable for her clients. An educator by training, Michelle has co-designed all of our programs and has conducted industry benchmarking research on the habits of high performance in the recruitment industry.
Michelle is also a nationally-recognised and award-winning educational leader, holding both an Honours and Masters of Education from Sydney University. Outside of work, she is a wife, a mother, a runner (sometimes), a singer (sometimes) and Beyonce fan (always).
MC - Andrew Klein
Andrew is one of Australia’s leading Professional Conference MCs and a Pitching & Presentation Skills speaker, trainer and writer, working on conferences around the Asia-Pacific region as well as the US and South Africa……or at least he did, back in the days when you could work in places apart from your living room. These days he is “Virtually an MC” – working on events live and online.
A former corporate lawyer, Andrew quit the law in the late 90’s before starting up his own business as a corporate trainer and speaker. As an MC, Andrew brings his casual yet corporate style to proceedings and is well-known on the conference circuit for his revealing speaker introductions, his improvisational skills and ability to adapt to different audiences.
Apart from MC’ing, Andrew runs workshops and keynotes on Presentation Skills and Pitching for Business. Andrew’s hobbies include shaving his head, walking his dog Pebbles and trying to convince his wife and 3 kids that he has a real job.
Emma Isaacs
Emma Isaacs is the founder of Business Chicks, a half-million strong community of businesswomen. A born entrepreneur, Emma has spent her life building businesses and helping people see possibility when they hadn’t imagined it before.
When Emma was just eighteen, she became the co-owner of a small recruitment company where she had just started working. By the time she sold the business eight years later, it had grown exponentially and was named Australia’s Favourite Recruiter in the SEEK Awards for three years in a row.
When Emma was 25, and while she was still running the recruitment company, she felt pulled to try something new. She was invited to a small event by a group called Business Chicks, where she learned the brand was up for sale. She took a leap of faith and bought it.
Over the past sixteen years, Emma has transformed Business Chicks from the ground up, growing it from 250 members to what it is today: a global enterprise that operates in two continents and eleven cities, and produces more than 100 events annually, with past speakers including Dr Brené Brown, Seth Godin, Sir Richard Branson, Gloria Steinem, Nicole Kidman, Sir Bob Geldof, Sarah Jessica Parker and Julia Gillard, amongst others.
Born and raised in Sydney, Emma lives in Los Angeles with her six young children, where she heads up the now international Business Chicks. She is a serial property investor, mentor and angel investor, the bestselling author of Winging It and under her leadership, Business Chicks has raised more than A$13 million for charity.

Mark Mathews is one of the world's premier big wave surfers. In the last 15 years Mark has taken himself from a penniless want-to-be surfer to an international brand name, part time philosopher, story teller and big wave surfing legend. His story is one of commitment, leadership, hard work, innovation, struggle and maximising available talent.
Winner of an unprecedented 3 back to back Oakley Big Wave Awards, the now Red Bull Athlete has cemented himself as one of the best big wave surfers in the world.

Nuriah Jadai
Nuriah is a Mangala and Martu woman, her family spreading across the western desert and kimberley regions of Western Australia.
Nuriah spends her time within the worlds of art, fashion design and cultural advising and mentoring but makes sure she has plenty of time to spend on country, fishing and being with her family.
She is a deadly force to be reckoned with in everything she does. Nuriah's artistry is boundless and her energy is absolutely astounding. She can expertly recognise people's power (even before they know themselves) and lives and breathes all of her values.

Anna is a social strategist, storyteller and adventurer, starting her career in Social Work before moving into human rights law.
Anna's nomadic lifestyle over the decade has allowed her to travel to nearly every nook and cranny in Australia, listening deeply to the stories of communities and working in partnership to translate these to government & business. Anna’s lived experience of managing lifelong chronic health issues has influenced and shaped her creative ways of working.

Nathan Green
Nathan is a Senior Solutions Consultant at Bullhorn, working across the APAC region.
Nathan originally joined the business as a member of the support team and was integral to the team managing the largest accounts in the region.
Before Bullhorn he worked closer to the code in development where he gained invaluable experience but quickly learned he wanted to bridge the gap between people and technology. He now brings his technical expertise and passion for technology to clients helping them to optimise and automate their workforce at scale through the evaluation and implementation of best-in-breed technologies.
Josh McCole
Josh is an APAC Account Executive at Bullhorn.
Josh has over 10 years experience working in the technology space and with a passion for recruitment and technology, Bullhorn is the perfect fit for Josh.

Peter Baines
Peter spent 22 years with the NSW Police leading teams in response to acts of terrorism and natural disasters on a scale not previously seen. Peter was part of the leadership team that responded to Bali after the bombings in 2002 and was called in 2005 to lead international teams in response to the Tsunami of December 26, 2004 in South East Asia. Peter headed up multiple rotations into Thailand leading international teams in the identification process of those who died. All the time his leadership theories were tested in this trying environment.
Creating sustainable leadership became a passion of his after witnessing the devastating effects of the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami. He was deeply touched by the number of children left without parents by the disaster and was inspired to set up an organisation that could make a significant difference in the lives of these children.
In late 2005, Hands Across the Water was formed to raise funds for, and awareness of, the children of Thailand who were left alone. Today Peter spends his time helping businesses build effective Sustainable Leadership programs through the unique mix of his leadership and corporate social responsibility initiatives. He continues with his work in supporting the kids and communities of Thailand through Hands Across the Water.

Amanda Gordon
Amanda Gordon is one of Australia’s most well-known psychologists, with over twenty-five years’ experience helping individuals and organisations to achieve positive change through workplace happiness and wellbeing.
She is an endorsed specialist health and clinical psychologist and a member of each of those specialist colleges of the Australian psychological society.
James Cook
James joined the Indeed Business in 2014 and spent his early years supporting the growth of the business's mid-market space. Following six years in mid-market, James moved across to National Accounts, where he now supports Indeed’s Account Managers across the Direct Employer, Recruitment Agency and the RPO space.
Guy Davy
Guy Davy is a Senior Manager for LinkedIn’s Search & Staff Talent Solutions. Guy and his team is responsible for supporting recruitment professionals across Australia and New Zealand.
He has over 17 years of recruitment experience spanning across in the UK and Australia. He has worked for organisations of all sizes, from global companies to start-up SMBs.

Caroline North
Caroline has spent time in both the UK and Australia working in research and communication with a focus on translating research into actionable insight.
During the last 11 years at SEEK, Caroline has worked to support both internal and external Customers in understanding Candidate needs – including the inception as well as continued development of the Laws Of Attraction research study, which looks to understand what candidates prioritise when considering who or where to work for.
In addition Caroline has developed a number of initiatives to understand the broader trends within the D&I landscape.
Caroline lives and works in regional Victoria with her family on 4 acres of beautiful bushland on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung, Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung people.
Penny O’Reilly
Penny is a highly respected leader and influencer within the Australian and New Zealand Recruitment Industry.
Since joining the Recruitment Industry over two decades ago, Penny has operated at an operational, strategic and executive level to support thousands of organisations across Australia and New Zealand design, build, implement and manage successful recruitment programs.
In 2021, Penny was appointed to the global leadership team of ManpowerGroup. As Managing Director of ManpowerGroup Australia, Penny holds overall responsibility for the ongoing growth, success and strategic direction of the ManpowerGroup Australia operation.
Prior to this appointment, Penny held Managing Director roles at global recruitment firms Hudson and Kelly Services.
In 2015, Penny was appointed to the board of the Recruitment & Consulting Services Association (RCSA), the peak body for recruitment professionals and employment consultants across Australia and New Zealand. In 2020, Penny was elevated to the role of Vice President, RCSA.
Penny is a deeply engaging leader with demonstrated success in building businesses that deliver sustainable profit. She is a firm believer in enabling people to achieve their potential and a strong industry advocate. Penny is also a regular commentator on recruitment strategy, diversity and inclusion, people management and leadership issues within the Australian and New Zealand market.
Penny completed a Bachelor of Business & Management at the University of Newcastle and holds certification from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Our dawn walkabout will start when the stars are still overhead and Orion the hunter is marching up the eastern horizon. Masked owl, still wide awake and wishing for darkness to stay a little longer, stalks her prey. We will wander the botanic gardens of Hobart, listening deeply as we feel the courage of the first bird song and witness the awe which is evoked from the first stroke of colour across the dawn sky. As the sun rises we will collectively welcome in a new day and a new season, as we transition to spring.

All cancellations must be made in writing to the RCSA Events team. Depending on when your cancellation is received, the below concessions will be made.

Should the RCSA be forced to cancel the Shape Conference due to the covid-19 pandemic, the following cancellation policy would apply to recoup a portion of non-refundable hard costs incurred. The RCSA will endeavour to reduce these costs as much as possible in the lead up to the event, however, by registering as an attendee, you are agreeing to the following maximum non-refundable fees:
