Sharon Kosmina

Sharon Kosmina is the Program Manager for the Specialist International Medical Graduate (SIMG) Program Review at Ahpra. In this role, she works closely with the Medical Board of Australia and Ahpra's Medical Board team to deliver the implementation of the Kruk Review recommendations relating to specialist international medical graduates. Sharon leads key reform initiatives, including the establishment of the Medical Board of Australia's Expedited Specialist Pathway and the review of the Specialist (Comparability) Pathway. Her work focuses on improving assessment pathways for internationally qualified specialists while supporting workforce needs and maintaining high standards of patient safety. With extensive experience in program management, regulatory reform, health consulting and stakeholder engagement, Sharon has led complex projects involving collaboration across regulators, specialist medical colleges, government stakeholders, and the medical profession. She is passionate about delivering practical reforms that strengthen Australia's health workforce and improve access to medical services for communities.
