Maarten Roosenburg

In 2001 Maarten commenced his career in recruitment at Drake International developing innovative interactive resume technology throughout Australia, North America and New Zealand. After four years Maarten made the decision to build his own recruitment business and in May 2005 SMAART Recruitment came to life.   

 Specialising in Sales, Marketing and Contact Centres, SMAART has evolved into a sector thought leader and an award-winning company with an instantly recognisable brand. Maarten has focused on empowering his staff and SMAART has gone from strength to strength, enjoying a unique culture where normal recruitment metrics are replaced by staff autonomy and empowerment, resulting in industry leading staff tenures. 

 With an interest in technology Maarten has a strong record in supporting start-ups, of which many have developed into highly successful businesses. With four offices in four states, SMAART Recruitment has evolved into a highly regarded specialist recruitment agency and will be celebrating 20 years of trading in May 2025.

Kat Kingshott

Kat Kingshott is a skilled talent acquisition leader who is passionate about bringing everyone along on the journey of evolving recruitment in the new “AI generation”. As Founder of Touchstone Talent, she has helped recruitment agencies and technology companies build and scale their GTM and operational teams, equipping recruiters and hiring managers with the tools and mindset for impactful hiring. 

 In 2013, Kat relocated to the United States, and gained exposure to a wide variety of businesses facing evolving talent and recruitment process challenges. By understanding both the unique and common elements that different companies encounter, she has learnt about the importance of effective technology adoption whilst ensuing people and culture remain at the core of these decisions. 

 Kat is currently advising international recruitment businesses on their tech stack. She is also a consultant and community partner for emerging AI tools. Kat supports a future where AI will drive speed, scale, and consistency without compromising the human element.
