AMRANZ members are invited to come together in Sydney on Thursday 13 November to hear updates from the AMRANZ Council and to network with fellow healthcare professionals.
AMRANZ represents the interests of medical workforce agencies in Australia and New Zealand. Members work closely with health services to identify and bring together a highly skilled and experienced medical workforce. AMRANZ members are guided by a Code for Professional Conduct and are recognised for their commitment to quality and ethical practices.
The Association of Medical Recruiters Australia New Zealand (AMRANZ) provides a focal point for recruitment consultancies whose business is the recruitment of medical practitioners into and within Australia and New Zealand. AMRANZ is a member group of the Recruitment, Consulting and Staffing Association Australia and New Zealand (RCSA) and is responsible for ensuring continued growth of the industry and professionalism of individuals within the industry.

Somaiya Zobair | Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)
Somaiya is a health workforce strategist and health economist and the National Lead for GP Workforce Reporting and Analytics at the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). She specialises in data-informed, evidence-based approaches to workforce planning, policy, and program design across the medical workforce sector, and has led projects addressing workforce distribution, training pathways, and advocacy. Somaiya is passionate about developing sustainable, long-term solutions to Australia and New Zealand’s medical workforce challenges.
Sarah Harper | Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra)
Policy Manager, Medical, Ahpra
Sarah Harper is the Policy Manager, Medical at the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra). She has worked with the Medical Board of Australia since 2013, providing policy and administrative support to the Board and Ahpra across many high profile project and initiatives.
Prior to this role, Sarah worked in health policy roles in Australian state Government and project roles in public hospitals.
Dr Luis Prado
Dr Luis Prado is currently a Senior Medical Administrator in Queensland Health. Prior to this he was the Chief Medical Officer of St John of God Healthcare responsible for Medical Services and Clinical Governance. For over 30 years he has held a number of senior medical administrator roles across Queensland Health and in the private healthcare sector. He has over 20 years’ experience in the private hospital sector including roles as Chief Medical Officer and Executive Director of Academic and Medical Services at Epworth HealthCare; Director of the Medical Services at the Wesley Hospital, and Chief Medical Officer for Uniting Care Health. He is an experienced Board Director in both for and not for profit organisations.
He has also served as a medical officer with the Australian Regular Army, including deployments to the Western Sahara and Solomon Islands and commanded the 11th Medical Company at Gallipoli Barracks, Brisbane, and is a Major in Royal Australian Army Medical Corps.
Luis is an Adjunct Professor for Queensland University of Technology, Affiliate Professor for Deakin University and Associate Professor of the University of Queensland and has been actively involved in leading medical education in the private sector. Luis is passionate about the opportunities and future directions for medical practice and supports his vision at a more practical level by continuing to work actively as a General Practitioner in the community. Luis has been a General Practitioner since 1993 and has a particular interest in Sports Medicine. He is a Fellow of RACGP, RACMA and the first Australian to become a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and American College of Medical Quality.
Jason Falinski
Jason Falinski was a member of the Australian Parliament until 2022. In his six years as a member he chaired two key economic oversight committees of the House of Representatives. The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics has oversight of Treasury, the RBA, APRA, ACCC and ASIC. As Chair of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Tax and Revenue he was responsible for oversight of the Australian Tax Office.
There are seven parliamentary reports under his chairmanship covering topics from housing affordability, taxpayer advocate, common ownership, retail corporate bonds, the operation of the Reserve Bank during Covid, shareholder class actions, among others. Prior to that he established and ran CareWell Health a health care furniture and equipment manufacturer. Before this he was Group Executive, Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions at Insurance Australia Group.
Since leaving Parliament he has established Procare Help and Ergo Videatur. He also chairs Airtrip.
Adrian Turner | Citation HR and Safety & General Counsel
Adrian has a multifaceted role in Citation, serving as the General Manager of Citation HR and Safety, as well as Group General Counsel.
In his General Manager role, Adrian oversees the Customer, Product, and Service Delivery functions of Citation HR and Safety, with responsibility for delivering consistent, high-quality experience for our clients through the alignment of Citation’s people, processes, and technology.
As General Counsel, Adrian has broad involvement in the commercial development/M&A, governance and risk programs of work within the wider Citation Group. Adrian works in an in-house capacity across diverse areas of the law. Adrian has a background in employment law, having originally cut his teeth as an employment solicitor within Citation Legal.
