AMRANZ members are invited to come together in Sydney on Wednesday 30 October to hear updates from the AMRANZ Council and to network with fellow healthcare professionals.
AMRANZ represents the interests of medical workforce agencies in Australia and New Zealand. Members work closely with health services to identify and bring together a highly skilled and experienced medical workforce. AMRANZ members are guided by a Code for Professional Conduct and are recognised for their commitment to quality and ethical practices.
The Association of Medical Recruiters Australia New Zealand (AMRANZ) provides a focal point for recruitment consultancies whose business is the recruitment of medical practitioners into and within Australia and New Zealand. AMRANZ is a member group of the Recruitment, Consulting and Staffing Association Australia and New Zealand (RCSA) and is responsible for ensuring continued growth of the industry and professionalism of individuals within the industry.

Dr Susan O'Dwyer
Dr Susan O'Dwyer is a member of the Medical Board of Australia and Chair of the Board’s Specialist IMG Pathways Review Advisory Committee and Steering Committee. She is also the immediate past Chair of the Queensland Board of the Medical Board of Australia. Dr O’Dwyer is the Executive Director, Medical Services at Metro South Health, one of Brisbane’s major providers of public health services and is a Censor with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. She has worked in medical administration roles at various facilities across Queensland for more than 20 years with responsibilities for medical workforce, education and training. Dr O’Dwyer has a long-standing involvement with the Australian Medical Council, including accreditation activities for international medical graduate pathways, prevocational accreditation, and specialist college accreditation. In 2018, Dr O’Dwyer was awarded the RACMA Distinguished Fellow Award for her excellence in leadership and significant contribution to medical regulation in Australia and improving education and training for junior doctors, including developing the flagship program RAPTS for international graduates.
Dr Andrew Laming
Andrew Laming is a social policy reformer with a focus on health, education, and human services. He holds a Harvard Master’s in Public Administration and has a strong background in public health, including pioneering the use of azithromycin for trachoma in Australia.
His early career involved working in Indigenous eye care and serving as an assistant war surgeon in Afghanistan. His two decades in federal politics contain a remarkable list of transformational policy innovations for successive Coalition Prime Ministers. He was a policy advisor to the Howard Government for the release of the first Meningococcal vaccine, as well as reforms to mental health, medical research, and Medicare chronic disease reforms. In his first term as a federal MP, he successfully drove reform of Australia’s Pharmaceutical Benefits System, with mandatory price disclosure adopted by both sides of politics saving taxpayers around a billion dollars annually.
He also served as the Coalition representative to the UNESCO National Commission and chaired the Employment, Education, and Training Standing Committee, driving significant policy recommendations. Currently, he practices as an Ophthalmic surgeon, conducting public clinics across regional Queensland.
Anna Samios
Anna Samios is an award-winning Scaling Up Certified Coach and the first female certified coach in Australasia. As CEO of Performance 7, she helps Australian mid-market companies scale, having advised over 400 firms, including CSIRO and various startups. With 25 years of entrepreneurial experience, Anna has been featured on Channel 7, lectured to CSIRO’s Alumni program, and worked with the Federal Government's Entrepreneurs Program. She regularly keynotes with Sharktank stars and is a sought-after adviser to top Australian CEOs and BRW Rich Listers. Anna is also a Board Director of the National Institute of Dramatic Art Foundation (NIDA) and Chair of DevEx Connect. Passionate about empowering businesses and women, she brings electrifying energy to her work.
Dr Mike Dunne
Mike Dunne PhD, is a highly engaged, solutions-focused policy advisor and project manager with 16+ years of experience in the public sector and higher education. Mike’s overarching objective is to facilitate constructive, system-level change.
As the Manager for Interjurisdictional workforce programs at the NSW Ministry of Health, Mike leads a dynamic, reform-focused team that informs NSW policy and national workforce programs across all regulated healthcare professions.
Dr Simon Kinsella
Simon Kinsella is a prominent figure in the field of psychology, renowned for his expertise in treating trauma, anxiety, and depression in both adolescents and adults. With over three decades of experience, he has established himself as a leading authority in mental health, combining clinical practice with innovative approaches to AI-driven solutions.
Kinsella's work with Mesh Health has led to the development of Simpatico, a cutting-edge AI tool integrated into MS Teams and Microsoft Copilot. Simpatico offers accessible, real-time assistance, bridging the gap in mental health support and providing innovative solutions for individuals and organizations alike.
Simon Kinsella is a highly respected expert in mental health who has made significant contributions to the field. His expertise, combined with his innovative approach to AI-driven solutions, positions him as a leading figure in the development of accessible and effective mental health support.
Kylie Edwards
Kylie Edwards is the Manager at Verification Services, with over 15 years of experience overseeing AMC candidate accounts and applications, including verification of medical credentials. As part of her responsibilities, she is also liaising with ECFMG on verification matters, Australian/Australasian Specialist Colleges on specialist assessments and Ahpra/MBA teams regarding any candidate matters. Kylie has previous experience working as a hospital administrator in Sydney.
Kylie and Megan will cover essential updates and processes related to the AMC for IMGs.
